How the Calculator Works
Ovucal uses the common calendar method: for many cycles, ovulation occurs roughly 14 days before the next period begins. If your average cycle is 28 days, the estimate usually lands near cycle day 14. If your cycle is longer or shorter, the expected ovulation date shifts with it.
How to Use Your Results Responsibly
1. Enter consistent cycle data
Use the first full day of menstrual bleeding as day one. Spotting before your period should not usually be counted as the first day.
2. Compare more than one cycle
One cycle can be affected by stress, travel, illness, sleep changes, or medication. A three to six month average gives a more stable estimate.
3. Confirm with body signs
For higher confidence, compare the estimate with cervical mucus, LH test strips, or basal body temperature patterns.

No calendar-based ovulation calculator can guarantee the exact day ovulation happens. The result is an estimate based on the first day of the last period, average cycle length, and a typical 14-day luteal-phase assumption.
The estimate may be less reliable with irregular cycles, PCOS, recent pregnancy, breastfeeding, perimenopause, illness, major stress, or after starting or stopping hormonal contraception. Ovulation predictor kits and basal body temperature can add context, but they also have limitations.
